Gen. Isp. Capo GArn (r) Pietro Finocchio

- Born in Naples on March, 31st 1945;

- He attended the Aeronautics Academy of Pozzuoli between 1963 and 1969 as cadet of the course Borea terzo;

- He took a degree with honors in Electronic Engineering at il Polytechnic of Naples;

- He served in the institutions below:

• Experimental Flight Unit (RSV) of Pratica di Mare;
• Costarmaereo;
• Office of Aeronautical and Defence Attaché at the Embassy of Italy in Washington D.C.;
• Telecomdife.

- He obtained a diploma of in-flight system experimenter at the Experimental Flight Unit in 1977, and has the licenses of civilian pilot and of amateur parachutist.

- Over his career, he held the positions below:

• Inspector of the host country for the aerial defense NATO integrated program (Nadge);
• Technical Director of the Experimental Flight Unit (RSV);
• Director of the First Maintenance Unit Tornado aircrafts;
• Head of Italy delegation of EFA and AMX aircrafts logistics at the SMA fourth Department;
• Co-President of the management Committee and Policy Group member of the American-Italian EH101 program between 1990 and 1996;
• Head of the Delegation of Italy of the joint Executive Committee Esecutivo and Steering Committee member of the NH90 program, between 1992 and 1996;
• Director of the Technical Coordination Office of the Directorate General Teledife, between 1996 and 1999;
• Chief of the Technology Research Unit of Segredifesa between 1999 and 2001;
• President of the Panel II (R & T) of the WEAG and NATO R & T Committee member between June, 1997 and June, 2001;
• Director General of NAHEMA (NATO Helicopter Management Agency) between August 1st, 2001 and July 31st, 2004;
• Director General of TELEDIFE from September 2004 to March 2010;

- From January 2005 to March 2014 he was President of AFCEA (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association) ROMA section and since 2017 he has been Director at the Aeronautics Military Studies Center.

- He concluded active duty on March, 31st 2010.

- He speaks fluently English, French and Portuguese.

- Gen. Finocchio has married mrs. Enrica and has a daughter, a son and four grandchildren.
