Matteo Francescucci
Matteo Francescucci hails from Pescara (Abruzzo) and is a university student enrolling in the Master's Degree program in African and Asian Studies at the University of Pavia. He obtained his degree in International Sciences and European Institutions (Institutions and International Organizations curriculum) from the University of Milan, focusing his interests on the MENA region, with particular attention to the political dynamics involving Turkey.
His passion for the political affairs and history of the overmentioned country led him to write a thesis in History and Institutions of Islamic Countries titled: “Twenty Years of Erdoğan: The Role of Turkish Political Islam and Neo-Ottoman Ideology in the Transformation of the Institutions of the Republic of Turkey.” Over time, his interests have also extended to the Horn of Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, and the Arab world in general, prompting him to undertake the study of the Arabic language.
Additionally, he is interested in the commercial and strategic relations between Western and Afro-Asian countries, with particular attention to the aspects of economic and military cooperation and competition.
