Thanks to the expertise of Giulio Venneri, Head of the Centre of Thematic Expertise on Rule of Law, Fundalmental Rights and Democracy - DG NEAR, this webinar aims to discuss two crucial challenges that the Western Balkans enlargement process is facing:
- The weakness of their institutions, the spread of corruption and the fragility of their socio-economic systems, which have profoundly impacted the European engagement in the region;
- The necessity of a former internal European reform and the implementation of a new enlargement methodology that have delayed the accession process, leaving the field to the influence of further superpowers.

Cecilia nasce a Roma, dove frequenta la Facoltà di Scienze Politiche di Roma Tre con indirizzo Relazioni Internazionali. Successivamente, si trasferisce a Bologna per la Laurea Magistrale in International Affairs, conseguita a marzo 2020.
Durante il periodo universitario ha la possibilità di svolgere diverse esperienze formative, in Italia e all’estero. Durante la triennale ha studiato per un semestre presso l’Università di Groningen, nei Paesi Bassi, nel contesto del programma Erasmus. Durante gli studi a Bologna ha lavorato per un periodo come tirocinante di Europrogettazione presso una ONG che gestisce e promuove programmi di volontariato internazionale. Successivamente, si è trasferita per 3 mesi a Praga, per fare ricerca tesi e lavorare come assistente di ricerca presso l’Institute of International Relations. Tornata a Roma e dopo la laurea, ha intrapreso un breve percorso aziendale in Accenture, lasciato per avvicinarsi a qualcosa che rispecchi maggiormente i suoi interessi e i suoi studi. Attualmente svolge un tirocinio in Administration and Communication all’International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
Nel tempo libero ama interessarsi a tematiche di genere, fare yoga, e ascoltare podcasts di true crime. In Mondo Internazionale ricopre il ruolo di Responsabile Eventi di Mondo Internazionale Academy.
