Unified Rules of Procedure of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.

PREMISES

Article 1

PURPOSES

1. The provisions of the Unified Rules of Procedure of Mondo Internazionale Geostrategic Earth Observations (G.E.O.) (hereinafter also “G.E.O. Unified Rules of Procedure” or “Unified Rules of Procedure”) interpret and supplement the provisions of the Statute and the Rules of Procedure of the Association and are intended to govern and organize the activities of Mondo Internazionale Geostrategic Earth Observations Division (hereinafter also “G.E.O. Division” or “Division”).

2. These Unified Rules of Procedure govern:

a) the internal organizational aspects of the G.E.O. Division;

b) the rights and obligations of the members of the G.E.O. Division and of those acting in any capacity in the name and on behalf of the G.E.O. Division;

c) the allocation of functions and the performance of activities by the members of the Division, in order to outline in detail the organisational and operational guidelines not expressly described in the Rules of Procedure and the Statute.

3. The G.E.O. Unified Rules of Procedure are submitted for approval to the Assembly by the Steering Committee.

4. In the event of a conflict between the provisions of the Statute or the Rules of Procedure and the provisions of the G.E.O. Unified Rules of Procedure, the provisions of the Statute and the Rules of Procedure prevail.

Article 2

ACTIVITIES OF THE G.E.O. DIVISION

1. The G.E.O. Division represents the Association’s division dedicated to international geopolitical and geostrategic research and analysis. In carrying out its activities the G.E.O. Division relies on the collaboration of its members and external parties interested in contributing. The G.E.O. Division values all its members, offering incentives, opportunities and constant updates for their personal and professional growth. The Division aims to build a dynamic and innovative environment of work and collaboration.

2. The Division is subject to the direction of the General Management and the Steering Committee.

3. The vision of the G.E.O. Division is to achieve the following objectives:

a) To develop and support innovation in the field of geopolitical and geostrategic research and analysis;

b) To deepen the contextual study of conflicts, crises and international processes between States and within them;

c) To elaborate a definition of the strategic contexts, whether economic, sociological and anthropological, environmental, defence and security-related, geographical or political and to verify their implications within the international system.

4. The G.E.O. Division shall take care of the Association’s image in the exercise of its functions, acting in a transparent and objective manner.

G.E.O. DIVISION

Article 3

COMPOSITION OF THE G.E.O. DIVISION

1. The G.E.O. Division consists of:

a) Board of Directors of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O., body that directs and coordinates the Division;

b) Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.;

c) Advisor of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.;

d) Assistant of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.;

e) Head Researcher;

f) Senior Researcher;

g) Junior Researcher.

2. In the international context in which the Association operates, the G.E.O. Division is identified as “Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.”.

3. The research activities of the G.E.O. Division are carried out through sections, each competent for a specific research area, as set out in Annex 1 to these Unified Rules of Procedure.

Article 4

BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF MONDO INTERNAZIONALE G.E.O.

1. The members of the Board of Directors hold office for 2 years and are eligible for re-election.

2. In the international context in which the Association operates, the Board of Directors is identified as “Board of Directors of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.”.

3. The Board of Director is composed of the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O., the Advisor of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. and the Assistant of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.

Article 5

BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETINGS

1. The Board of Directors plans the general activities of the Division, coordinating and consulting with the Steering Committee.

2. The Board of Directors meets periodically and the resolutions adopted may concern:

a) The organization and management of the activities and the members who are part of the Division;

b) The conception and the implementation of new initiatives and new projects for the development of the Division;

c) The drafting of guidelines for improved functioning and coordination within the Division;

d) The performance of the Division’s activities with third-party entities, other public and private bodies, local and international institutions and organizations;

e) A critical assessment of the overall performance of the Division and the results achieved and to be achieved on the basis of the activities planned and under planning;

f) An assessment of the overall work of the Head Researchers, Senior Researchers and Junior Researchers on the basis of the activities carried out and the results obtained;

g) The preparation of the annual work cycles, also taking into consideration the amount of financial resources allocated to the Division by the Steering Committee.

3. If a member of the Board of Directors is unable to take part in the vote, the member may delegate their vote to another member of the same body, upon a written and formal authorization, which shall in no way present signs of falsification or ambiguity, otherwise it will be invalid.

4. The Board of Directors of the Division periodically holds, together with the Association’s Steering Committee and, when appropriate, the Board of Directors of the other Divisions, meetings which may concern:

a) The organization and performance of joint activities;

b) The periodic updating on the performance and progress of the G.E.O. Division’s activities.

Article 6

RESEARCH DIRECTOR OF MONDO INTERNAZIONALE G.E.O.

1. The Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. is appointed by the General Manager, subject to approval by the Steering Committee. The Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. serves a renewable two-year term, subject to the approval by the Secretary General. In any case, the term must not be shorter than three months.

2. In the international context in which the Association operates, the Research Director of the G.E.O. Division is identified as the “Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.”.

3. The Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. is part of the General Management Team.

4. The Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. must coordinate and lead activities of the Board of Directors and the Division with objectivity and balance, encouraging contribution from all members. In particular, the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. appoints the Assistant of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O., the Advisor of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O., the Head Researchers, the Senior Researchers and the Junior Researchers. These appointments must be approved by the General Manager.

5. Together with their Division, of whose operations they are responsible, the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. is in charge of:

a) Advising the Steering Committee on possible developments of the Division and on future orientations of the Division, following a meeting with the Board of Directors;

b) Maintaining constant contacts with the Steering Committee and the General Manager of the Association to coordinate the activities of the Division;

c) Proposing solutions for the qualitative improvement of the research carried out within the Division;

d) Implementing the guidelines established together with the Steering Committee of the Association, ensuring that they are observed by the Board of Directors and all members participating in the activities of the G.E.O. Division;

e) Coordinating the individuals working within the Division and the activities they carry out, in accordance with the guidelines established within the Board of Directors;

f) Performing representative activities and maintaining national and international relations of the G.E.O. Division with public and private entities, institutions, international organizations, universities, supporters of the G.E.O. Division and volunteer work;

g) Guaranteeing the proper functioning of the Board of Directors and representing its positions within the Division and outside of it;

h) Ensuring compliance with the legal provisions and the internal rules of the Association;

i) Taking care of the correct use of any form of funding provided to the G.E.O. Division, ensuring that the available funds are employed in the performance of the planned activities and safeguarded against any potentially illegal and/or harmful activity according to the applicable legal provisions and internal rules of the Association, with the support of the Treasury, Fundraising, and Grant Management Team.

6. In the performance of their functions, the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. may decide to delegate some of them, if necessary, to other members of the Board of Directors of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O., while remaining jointly liable with the delegated party.

7. In the event of an absolute emergency, in order to ensure compliance with the applicable regulations, the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. may temporarily replace the Board of Directors of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. and adopt any measures necessary to overcome the emergency. Within 15 days following the end of the emergency, the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. shall submit a report to the Board of Directors, which deliberates by qualified majority on the activities of the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. and confirms or revoke the measures adopted by the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. By way of example, emergency cases referred to in the present paragraph may concern:

a) The violation of the Association’s Internal Regulations and the legal provisions by one or more members of the Division;

b) If one or more members of the Division cause harm to the Division;

c) When it is not possible to convene the Board of Directors within 24 hours and there are emergency decisions to be taken for the security and management of the Division.

8. At the end of their term, the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. remains in office for ordinary administrative activities until the General Manager appoints the new Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.

9. Should the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. decide to resign before the completion of the 2-year term, they must inform the General Manager in writing at least 60 days before the effective resignation date, unless otherwise agreed.

10. If deemed necessary, the Steering Committee may revoke the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. from office by a qualified majority vote, with written justification. This resolution must be communicated through the official communication channels. The Steering Committee’s decision becomes effective 3 days after the communication.

11. In the event of resignation, revocation, or removal of the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O., the General Manager shall take over the role and will remain in office until the end of the current term.

Article 7

ASSISTANT OF MONDO INTERNAZIONALE G.E.O.

1. The Assistant of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. is appointed by the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O., subject to approval by the Board of Directors. The Assistant of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. serves a renewable two-year term, subject to the approval by the General Manager. In any case, the term must not be shorter than three months.

2. In the international context in which the Association operates, the Assistant is identified as “Assistant of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.”.

3. The Assistant of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. is part of the Board of Directors and in the performance of their functions is in charge of:

a) Carrying out activities related to the administrative and bureaucratic management of the Division;

b) Supporting the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. and the Head Researchers in the management of the Division’s members;

c) Preparing the documentation necessary and instrumental for the performance of the activities of the Division by its members;

d) Maintaining relations with the other divisions of the Association and with public and private entities with which collaboration is appropriate for the achievement of the objectives set by the Board of Directors of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O., in compliance with legal provisions and the internal rules of the Association.

4. Should the Assistant of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. decide to resign before the completion of the 2-year term, they must inform the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. in writing at least 60 days before the effective resignation date, unless otherwise agreed.

5. If deemed necessary, the Steering Committee may revoke the Assistant of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. from office by a qualified majority vote, with written justification. This resolution must be communicated through the official communication channels. The Steering Committee’s decision becomes effective 3 days after the communication.

Article 8

ADVISOR OF MONDO INTERNAZIONALE G.E.O.

1. The Advisor of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. is appointed by the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O., subject to approval by the Board of Directors. The Advisor of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. serves a renewable two-year term, subject to the approval by the General Manager. In any case, the term must not be shorter than three months.

2. In the international context in which the Association operates, the Advisor is identified as “Advisor of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.”.

3. The Advisor of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. is part of the Board of Directors and in the performance of their functions is in charge of:

a) Advising the General Manager and the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. on the developments of the Division and the modalities for carrying out the Division’s research activities in order to ensure high-level content;

b) Supporting the work of the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. by providing advice on the decisions to be taken within the Board of Directors and the implementation of the guidelines issued by the General Manager and the Steering Committee;

c) Assisting the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. in the drafting and implementation of the operational directives for the activities of the G.E.O. Division, as well as in the organization and planning of the activities;

d) Supervising the management and performance of the activities organized by the G.E.O. Division;

e) Attending national and international operational meetings in which it is necessary to plan the activities of the G.E.O. Division and replacing the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. when necessary;

f) Supervising the work of the members of the G.E.O. Division;

g) Maintaining relations with public and private entities whose collaboration is relevant to achieving the objectives set by the Board of Directors of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O., in compliance with legal provisions and the Internal Regulations of the Association.

4. Should the Advisor of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. decide to resign before the completion of the 2-year term, they must inform the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. in writing at least 60 days before the effective resignation date, unless otherwise agreed.

5. If deemed necessary, the Steering Committee may revoke the Advisor of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. from office by a qualified majority vote, with written justification. This resolution must be communicated through the official communication channels. The Steering Committee’s decision becomes effective 3 days after the communication.

Article 9

HEAD RESEARCHER

1. For each section carrying out research activities, the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. shall appoint a Head Researcher, subject to the approval of the General Manager. The Head Researcher serves a renewable two-year term, subject to the approval by the General Manager. In any case, the term must not be shorter than three months.

2. In the international context in which the Association operates, the Head Researcher is identified as “Head Researcher of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.”.

3. The Head Researcher must coordinate and lead the activities of their section, with objectivity and balance, encouraging contribution from all members. The Head Researcher undertakes to keep the Steering Committee and the Board of Directors of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. constantly updated on the activities and projects carried out within their research section.

4. Together with the members of their section, for whose actions they are responsible, the Head Researcher is in charge of:

a) Developing and coordinating the projects and research activities within their section, including in collaboration with and with the support of the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. and the Board of Directors;

b) Organizing the activities of their section in compliance with the guidelines established by the Board of Directors;

c) Organizing and promoting activities with third-party entities, formulating cooperation agreements in concert with the Steering Committee, the Board of Directors of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. and the External Affairs and International Activities Team. It should be noted that any agreement entered into by the Head Researcher of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O., without having previously consulted and informed the Board of Directors of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. and without having obtained the signature of the President of the Association, shall be deemed flawed in form and, therefore, invalid under these Unified Rules of Procedure and the Internal Regulations;

d) Overseeing the research and analyses carried out by the members of their section, verifying the accuracy of the content and prepare them for publication where applicable, in accordance with the criteria of impartiality, objectivity and transparency;

e) Ensuring the proper conduct of the members of their section, in compliance with legal provisions and the Association’s rules;

f) Assigning to the Senior Researchers the research tasks within their scope of competence, according to objective and non-personal criteria, assessing the Senior Researcher’s aptitude and preparation for coordinating the assigned area;

g) Outlining, together with the Board of Directors, the objectives to be achieved and the constraints within which the members of the Division shall operate;

h) Identifying and selecting the members of the Division and third parties where necessary for carrying out the diverse activities within the Division, in accordance with the criteria defined by the Board of Directors and according to the various needs;

i) Taking care of the proper use of any form of funding granted by the Association to the research section within their competence, ensuring that the available funds are used in the performance of the planned activities and safeguarded from any potentially illegal and/or harmful activity in accordance with the applicable legal provisions and the Association’s internal rules.

5. Should the Head Researcher of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. decide to resign before the completion of the 2-year term, they must inform the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. in writing at least 60 days before the effective resignation date, unless otherwise agreed.

6. If deemed necessary, the Steering Committee may revoke the Head Researcher from office by a qualified majority vote, with written justification. This resolution must be communicated through the official communication channels. The Steering Committee’s decision becomes effective 3 days after the communication.

7. In the event of resignation, revocation, or removal of the Head Researcher, the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. shall take over the role and will remain in office until the end of the current term.

Article 10

SENIOR RESEARCHER

1. The Senior Researcher is appointed by the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O., subject to approval by the General Manager. The Senior Researcher serves a renewable two-year term, subject to the approval by the General Manager. In any case, the term must not be shorter than three months.

2. In the international context in which the Association operates, the Senior Researcher is identified as “Senior Researcher of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.”.

3. The Senior Researcher is responsible for the activities and projects within the competence of their section, carrying out research activities in the areas established by the Board of Directors and the Head Researcher and following their instructions. The Senior Researcher possesses strong analytical skills, a high degree of autonomy in the performance of research activities and is objective and impartial in the assessment of the content and results emerging from the research.

4. With reference to the research area assigned to the Senior Researcher, the Senior Researcher is in charge of:

a) Assisting their Head Researcher in the management of those who collaborate as members and as non-members within their research area;

b) Supervising the activities carried out by the Junior Researchers in relation to the research area falling within their competence and responsibility;

c) Communicating to the Junior Researchers the guidelines established by the Board of Directors and the instructions received from their Head Researcher for the performance of research activities within the area of competence;

d) Collecting the outcomes of the research and analyses produced by the Junior Researchers and transmitting them to their Head Researcher, attributing the respective merits;

e) Performing, when required, an advisory and support role for the Board of Directors in respect of the decisions to be taken concerning the development and evolution of the Division’s research and analysis activities.

5. Should the Senior Researcher of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. decide to resign before the completion of the 2-year term, they must inform the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. in writing at least 60 days before the effective resignation date, unless otherwise agreed.

6. If deemed necessary, the Steering Committee may revoke the Senior Researcher of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. from office by a qualified majority vote, with written justification. This resolution must be communicated through the official communication channels. The Steering Committee’s decision becomes effective 3 days after the communication.

Articolo 11

JUNIOR RESEARCHER

1. The Junior Researcher is appointed by the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O., subject to approval by the General Manager. The Junior Researcher serves a renewable two-year term, subject to the approval by the General Manager. In any case, the term must not be shorter than three months.

2. In the international context in which the Association operates, the Junior Researcher is identified as “Junior Researcher of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.”.

3. The Junior Researcher carries out the activities falling within the competence of their research area, collaborating with the members of the section and following the instructions of their respective Head Researcher and Senior Researcher. In particular, in the performance of their functions, the Junior Researcher is in charge of:

a) Assisting the Senior Researcher in research activities relating to the area of competence and periodically inform the Senior Researcher regarding the performance and results of their research activities;

b) Providing opinions, considerations and recommendations to develop and enhance the project and the research activity carried out within the relevant research area;

c) Conducting research and analyses on reliable data and sources;

d) Proposing initiatives and projects with third-party entities to the Head Researcher in order to develop the Division’s network.

4. The Board of Directors may decide by simple majority to promote the Junior Researcher, by assigning to the Junior Researcher the position of Senior Researcher, provided that the Junior Researcher:

a) Has prior experience in conducting analysis and research activities for a minimum period of 12 months, including on a non-continuous basis;

b) Is able to work in team and autonomously manage their own workload;

c) Is capable of coordinating small and/or medium-sized working groups;

d) Has strong problem solving and time management skills.

5. Should the Junior Researcher of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. decide to resign before the completion of the 2-year term, they must inform the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. in writing at least 60 days before the effective resignation date, unless otherwise agreed.

6. If deemed necessary, the Steering Committee may revoke the Junior Researcher of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. from office by a qualified majority vote, with written justification. This resolution must be communicated through the official communication channels. The Steering Committee’s decision becomes effective 3 days after the communication.

ORGANIZATION OF MONDO INTERNAZIONALE G.E.O.

Articolo 12

MEMBERS OF MONDO INTERNAZIONALE G.E.O.

1. All members of the Association may join the Division, subject to a written request submitted to the General Manager and to the Board of Directors of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. Upon receipt of the request, the General Manager consults with the Director of Human Resources for the appropriate evaluations. At the time of submitting the request for admission to the Division, the interested member must have regularly paid the membership fee and have reached the age of majority.

2. The Board of Directors deliberates on the request for admission submitted by the member, taking into consideration the professional experience and personal motivation of the member to join the Division. Where necessary, in order to assess the member’s technical and analytical skills, as well as their motivation to join the Division, the General Manager and the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. may interview the interested member orally and in such oral interview at least one Head Researcher of the G.E.O. Division and one member of the G.E.O. Division’s Board of Directors shall participate.

3. In the event of an unfavourable decision by the Board of Directors, the interested member may submit a new request after 6 months. It is not possible to appeal against the unfavourable decision.

Articolo 13

PLANNING OF MONDO INTERNAZIONALE G.E.O. ACTIVITIES

1. The Board of Directors, the Steering Committee and the General Manager plan the activities of the Division in annual cycles through work plans.

2. The Division, in order to fulfil its objective, provides its members with services aimed at their professional development and at enhancing their educational and informational background. For the planning and performance of such activities and events, the G.E.O. Division may collaborate with the Post Division. In particular, it may:

a) Organise seminars, events and conferences providing for free participation by the members. The events may be organised online or in person; in the latter case, events shall be organised in public venues, accessible to all and without any form of discrimination;

b) Organise advanced training and professional development courses aimed at developing members’ hard and soft skills in order to promote and facilitate the entry of students and graduates into the labour market;

c) Organise training courses and/or events at public or private entities with the purpose of educating and informing professionals and students on issues related to sustainable development and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR);

d) Establish a network composed of the Association’s partners, from which members may benefit in terms of personal and professional growth;

e) Develop an online database, accessible through the Association’s website, where members may view internship, employment and study abroad opportunities.

3. Participation in the training sessions referred to in the previous paragraph is an integral part of the commitment of the G.E.O. Division’s members who are required to actively participate in them.

4. The activities of the G.E.O. Division involve the development of research activities on topics established by the Board of Directors and the publication of the results of the analyses and research conducted. The provision of such services is coordinated by the Head Researchers. The operational procedures for the performance of the activities and projects are defined by the Board of Directors; their implementation is supervised by the Head Researchers and the Senior Researchers for the different research areas.

5. The G.E.O. Division, acting through the Board of Directors, may avail itself of the recommendations and opinions of entities or individuals external to the Association where such recommendations and opinions are particularly relevant to the performance of the Division’s research activities.

Article 14

PLANNING OF ACTIVITIES AND RELATIONS WITH THIRD PARTIES

1. The Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. manages the Division’s activities with third parties, operating under the supervision of the General Manager.

2. The Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. is responsible for drafting collaboration agreements with third-party entities, in compliance with the rules established by the Association on the matter. The agreements are drafted in consultation with the Association’s External Affairs and International Activities Team.

3. The Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. shall consult the Association’s Steering Committee in advance before initiating a collaboration or partnership with third-party entities. In any case, the formalisation of any collaboration or partnership agreement shall be signed directly by the President of the Association.

4. The Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. is responsible for providing continuous updates to both the General Manager and the Association’s Steering Committee on the performance of the activities and collaborations with third-party entities.

5. Any agreement entered into without prior consultation of the Association’s Steering Committee and without the signature of the President of the Association shall be deemed flawed in form and, therefore, invalid under these Unified Rules of Procedure.

Article 15

CONFIDENTIALITY OBLIGATION

1. The members of the Division are required to maintain the secrecy and confidentiality of the information, strategies and documents they become aware of in the course of carrying out activities within the Division.

2. The documents containing the strategies outlined by the Board of Directors of the G.E.O. Division for the activities and projects that the Division intends to develop shall not be made public, nor shall the analytical and research method established by the Division be disclosed, as well as any non-public information obtained during the performance of the activities.

Article 16

ASSESSMENT OF THE PROPER EXECUTION OF RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

1. The Steering Committee may carry out assessments to ensure that the research projects within the G.E.O. Division are conducted according to the criteria of objectivity, transparency, and impartiality.

2. For the performance of such assessments, the Steering Committee appoints from 2 to 5 individuals tasked with evaluating the objectivity, transparency and impartiality of the research project. The individuals are selected based on their theoretical and technical skills relevant to the subject of the research project, so that they can carry out a complete and objective evaluation. These appointed individuals shall provide an unambiguous assessment within 60 days from the start of the examination and share the results in writing with the Steering Committee.

3. If the evaluation expresses a positive opinion regarding compliance with the 3 aforementioned criteria (objectivity, transparency and impartiality), the Steering Committee simply informs the Board of Directors of the G.E.O. Division of the positive outcome of the evaluation.

4. If the evaluation expresses a negative opinion regarding compliance with one or more of the aforementioned criteria, the Steering Committee shall urgently convene, within a maximum of 7 days from receipt of the evaluation, the Board of Directors of the G.E.O. Division, the Head Researcher and the Senior Researcher of the research project in question, who shall meet in a common session. During the meeting, the Steering Committee shall present to the Board of Directors and the Senior Researcher the negative outcome of the evaluation, deciding on the measures to be adopted to ensure that the research project complies with the 3 outlined criteria and to prevent further violations of them.

5. In the event of a negative evaluation, if the failure to comply with the criteria of objectivity, transparency and impartiality is attributable to the negligence of the Research Director of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. or the Senior Researcher, the Steering Committee may assess whether to initiate disciplinary proceedings against them, in accordance with the applicable internal rules.

Article 17

TRADEMARKS AND LOGOS OF MONDO INTERNAZIONALE G.E.O.

1. The trademarks and logos of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. are:

2. These trademarks are protected in Italy and abroad. Any use of the Division’s trademarks by the members must be authorized by the G.E.O. Division’s Board of Directors. The member shall reproduce the trademarks and logos faithfully respecting the fonts and colours specified above.

3. In the case of the G.E.O. divisions of the “Mondo Internazionale–Nation” associations, where possible the above-mentioned trademark includes the addition of the relevant country.

Article 18

FINANCING OF MONDO INTERNAZIONALE G.E.O.

1. If the Board of Directors requires funding for the performance of the Division’s activities and the development of its projects, it may submit a request in accordance with the procedure set out in the Rules of Procedure.

Articolo 19

VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS

1. The Association’s Steering Committee approves by qualified majority which voluntary contributions, if available, are to be allocated to the G.E.O. Division.

Article 20

SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO THE RULES OF PROCEDURE

1. For all matters not expressly provided for in these Unified Rules of Procedure, the provisions of the Statute and of the Rules of Procedure apply.

ANNEX 1 TO THE G.E.O. UNIFIED RULES OF PROCEDURE

As provided for in Article 3 of the G.E.O. Unified Rules of Procedure, the research activities of the G.E.O. Division are carried out through sections, each having competence over a specific research area. The research areas are as follows:

a) Defence and Security, for predictive analyses of the contexts taken into consideration as research targets, also making use of the scientific-academic research methodology;

b) Culture and Society, for geopolitical analysis and socio-anthropological research of territories;

c) Economy, for geopolitical analysis and in-depth examination of the various economic and geo-economic contexts, both national and international;

d) Politics, for research and innovation in the fields of Italian, European and international politics;

e) Environment, for the analysis and research in environmental and natural contexts that play a fundamental role in the present and near future, also in relation to economic, political and social developments;

f) Country Profile, for the drafting of information briefs aimed at exploring in depth the political, economic, and social dynamics of countries worldwide for third-party entities, public and private bodies, institutions and local and international organizations;

g) Crisis Prevention, for multidisciplinary analysis and research of the main current geopolitical crisis contexts.
