Sofia Spanò

Sofia Spanò graduated in Social Sciences at Università degli Studi Niccolò Cusano with a thesis titled “Writing as a cultural phenomenon: an analysis of Isabel Allende’s novels”.

This education was enriched by several trips to Latin America, Morocco and Sri Lanka, which increased her sensitivity towards social dynamics and reinforced a desire to contribute to positive change.

Sofia also undertook an internship at VolNepal, where she actively contributed to the riseHER project, focused on the education and the empowerment of Nepalese girls.

Furthermore, she volunteered at an NGO on the Colombia-Venezuela border, providing critical assistance to Venezuelan migrants and deepening her knowledge of migration crises and humanitarian issues.

At Mondo Internazionale Sofia works as a Senior Researcher for Culture&Society in the G.E.O. division.
