During Charlemagne Prize Week 2026, from 12 to 14 May 2026, Riccardo Abbate, member of Mondo Internazionale APS, represented our organization in Aachen, Germany. After receiving the European Charlemagne Youth Prize in 2024, Mondo Internazionale APS returned to Germany this year as part of the European Charlemagne Youth Prize alumni community. It was an intense and inspiring week, centred on dialogue and reflection among the 27 national winners of the European Charlemagne Youth Prize on the future of Europe and the role of younger generations in civic participation.
Through workshops, institutional meetings, and exchanges with fellow Alumni, the experience strengthened the vision of a Europe built on participation, dialogue, and shared responsibility. The week also included the official Charlemagne Prize ceremony, awarded this year to Mario Draghi.
Riccardo’s participation reflects Mondo Internazionale APS’s commitment to European civic education, youth engagement, and personal responsibility. From this experience, we bring back new insights, connections and a renewed awareness of the importance of building youth-driven spaces for European dialogue.
