Chiara Lamedica

Chiara Lamedica earned her Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Languages and Literatures at University of Bologna, specializing in Arabic and French. She later continued her academic path at Aix-Marseille Université, where she attended the Master’s programme Langues et sociétés: Moyen-Orient et Maghreb (MOMA).

During her studies in Marseille, she developed research projects focusing on the specificity of Islam in Marseille and on the representation of Cairo’s post-revolution urban transformation through independent photography, exploring the relationship between social change and urban space.

Driven by a strong interest in the SWANA region, she is currently gaining experience in the publishing sector between France and Italy, with a particular focus on the social issues connected to migration phenomena and diasporic identities. She is also interested in the evolution of pop culture, especially comics and new forms of artistic expression in the contemporary Arab world.
