Concetta Roma
Concetta Roma, born in the province of Varese, holds a degree in Cultural Heritage Studies from the University of Milan, where she explored the relationship between image, sound and narrative in a thesis on the audiovisual poetics of David Lynch’s Blue Velvet. She subsequently obtained a master’s degree in music Publishing and Production from IULM, further developing her interest in cultural media.
Having always been fascinated by the dialogue between different artistic languages, she pays particular attention to the role of the soundtrack in the cinematic experience, with a focus on composers such as Ennio Morricone, John Williams, Angelo Badalamenti and Max Richter. She regards music as a bridge between different cultures, founded on the sharing of emotions.
Alongside her passion for cinema, she cultivates a keen interest in contemporary and performing arts, with particular attention to the work of Marina Abramović and forms of expression that explore the relationship between art, the body and society.
She has a particular interest in artistic intellectualism, understood as an exploration of the individual, their psychology, emotions and the needs that guide their existence, in the belief that art can offer valuable insights for living a more conscious and fulfilling life.
