Filippo Valicenti
Filippo Valicenti was born in Bergamo in 2001. He completed his undergraduate degree in Political, Social, and International Sciences at the University of Bologna. During his university career, he participated in academic mobility projects in Argentina, Chile, and Turkey, where he was exposed to the study of political theory and international relations from a perspective that diverged from the more traditionally Eurocentric one.
These study experiences led him to an interest in international development dynamics and the socioeconomic inequalities typical of the global south. He wrote his final thesis in Development Economics, exploring the role of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises as an important tool in the fight against poverty in the context of Emerging Economies, focusing on the Colombian context.
Passionate about languages, he speaks fluent Spanish and English and is learning Portuguese. His other great passion is photography, especially landscape photography.
His curiosity for international dynamics, combined with his love of research and writing, led him to Mondo Internazionale, where he currently serves as a Junior Researcher in the G.E.O. Economics area.
