Francesco Trevisan

Francesco Trevisan is a graduate student in International Relations and European Studies at the University of Florence, having earned his bachelor’s degree in International and Diplomatic Sciences at the University of Trieste (Gorizia campus), with a thesis focused on Italian political parties and the deployment of armed forces abroad in the context of Ukraine.

His main interests lie in security and defence, with particular attention to hybrid threats originating from the Russian Federation — including disinformation, influence campaigns and destabilisation efforts — as well as the security dynamics of the NATO/EU eastern flank.

Grounded, analytical and proactive, he approaches every context with rigour and adaptability. A defining experience in his path was his time at the Italian Embassy in Estonia, where he deepened his knowledge of security and defence through OSINT analysis, report drafting and participation in official institutional conferences.

He also supported a Member of the European Parliament during the 2024 electoral campaign and further explored defence-related topics through the MBDA Defence Leadership Academy and the De Gasperi Foundation’s “EU People” Political School, which also addressed hybrid threats against NATO and the EU.
