Leonardo Morreale

Leonardo Morreale earned a Bachelor’s degree in Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa from the University of Turin, followed by a Master’s degree in Historical and Oriental Studies from the University of Bologna—a path that enabled him to develop an in-depth historical and cultural understanding of East Asia. This interest sparked a need for a more analytical and security-focused approach, leading him to pursue a Level II Master’s degree in Geopolitics and Global Security at Sapienza University of Rome, where he honed his geopolitical analysis skills, specifically applying them to the study of security in East Asia. He is currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Sociology and Social Research at Niccolò Cusano University.

Through his professional experience at Hermes Bay S.r.l., he has put this academic background into practice by producing geopolitical intelligence reports, country risk assessments based on the IHS ECR methodology, and cyber intelligence briefs.

His primary interests lie in East Asian security, military history, and strategic demography—viewed as key lenses for understanding the shifting balance of power in the Indo-Pacific region, with a particular focus on Japan.

At Mondo Internazionale G.E.O., Leonardo Morreale serves as a Junior Researcher in the Defense and Security division.
