Lucas Martin Torres

Lucas Torres was born in Buenos Aires on February 21, 2001. At the age of three, he moved with his family to Milan. There he grew up in a cosmopolitan environment that, during his adolescence, led him to develop a deep interest in global dynamics, particularly those concerning the Global South.

Driven by his interest in international relations, Lucas earned a degree in International Studies (with a focus on Non-European Countries) from the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Milan. His final thesis analyzed Singapore’s electoral system, examining its characteristics and functioning. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Policies for International Cooperation at the Milan campus of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. In accordance with his undergraduate studies, his current academic path allows him to deepen and expand his knowledge of the Global South, particularly concerning Asia and Latin America.

Besides to international diplomacy, Lucas is passionate about sports, music, and travel. Backpacking is one of his greatest hobbies, which brought him to explore different parts of the world far removed from everyday life. This activity fuels his interests and allows him to gain experiences that enhance his understanding of global realities.
