Martina Cioni

Martina Cioni is pursuing a degree in Asian and Mediterranean African Languages, Cultures and Societies at Ca' Foscari University in Venice with a thesis that focuses on the representation of animals in Japanese literature and how those representations affect people's perceptions of living beings. Thanks to the Overseas Project, she lived five months in Japan, studying at Yokohama National University, where she attended courses of Contemporary Society and Japanese Language, developing a deep interest in social dynamics. Her main interests include Japanese culture, history, literature and the mechanisms that lead traditions, cultures and values to influence politics and modern issues such as the climate crisis.

In Mondo Internazionale, she holds the position of Junior Researcher in the team "Ambiente" since early 2025.
