Saverio Lesti

Saverio Lesti has been Head Researcher for the Security & Defense Area since January 2021 and Head Researcher for the  Underwater and Underwater Safety Area of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O. Furthermore, since October 2022, he has also held the position of Advisor of Mondo Internazionale G.E.O.

He has a background in international studies with a master's degree at the "Cesare Alfieri" faculty of political science in Florence in the genesis and development of European integration, with a thesis on the relationship between Margaret Thatcher and CEE in the years 1979-83. He holds a first-level master's degree in strategic military international relations from the Higher Institute of Joint Force Staff with a final paper on the use of police forces with military status in international operations. In 2018 he received the Serra Award from the Spadolini Foundation - Nuova Antologia, to reward the thesis most distinguished in developing a research theme in the History of International Relations.

Research interests include the history of international relations, military history, geopolitics, the world of security and defense as a whole.
