Edoardo Campanile

Edoardo Campanile was born in Milan in 1998. In 2021, he earned a Bachelor's degree in International Studies and European Institutions from the University of Milan, with a thesis on relations between Italy and Iran during the initial phase of the Islamic Revolution from 1978 to 1979.

Following this, he decided to deepen his expertise in Middle Eastern affairs, earning a Master of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies at Lund University in 2024. His thesis examined the evolution of civil-military relations in Turkey from 2014 to 2024, using Ankara's foreign policy in the Eastern Mediterranean as a case study. Passionate about international relations, geopolitics, and strategic studies, his research interests focus on Turkey's foreign policy and, more broadly, the political, economic, and military dynamics shaping the "Wider Mediterranean" region.

In his free time, Edoardo dedicates himself to studying languages. In addition to Italian, he is fluent in English, has a strong command of French, and is enthusiastically learning Turkish.

At Mondo Internazionale, Edoardo is a Senior Researcher in the Defense&Security division within G.E.O.
