Stefano Felician Beccari

Stefano Felician Beccari (1983) has been working for several years at the European Parliament (Brussels-Strasbourg) as a policy advisor; he has served in several Parliamentary Committees, such as "Security and Defence", "Foreign Affairs", "International Trade" and "Industry, Research, and Energy".

After graduating with honors in Law from the University of Trieste (2001-2006), he pursued a Master's degree at the University of Perugia (International Security Advanced Studies) and a Ph.D. in Geostrategy funded by the Italian Defence, during which he attended the 60th Session of the Istituto Alti Studi Difesa - IASD in Rome (2008-2009). His Ph.D. thesis was on Weapons of Mass Destruction.

A former trainee at the Italian Senate (Defence Committee and European Affairs Committee), he was then a researcher at the Italian Military Centre for Strategic Studies (CEMISS), also carrying out research periods abroad, including a study session at the National Defence College of the Philippines, in Manila. He has lectured at universities, research centers, military and police units in Italy and abroad.

A youth activist since 2000, from 2008 he has been a member of the Italian "Forum Nazionale Giovani" (now "Consiglio Nazionale Giovani", or National Youth Council) and a board member in the years 2012-2015; he was then elected board member of the European Youth Forum in Brussels (2015-2016).

He has published in Italian and English, for CEMISS, and for magazines such as Limes, Rivista Marittima, and Informazioni Difesa.

His latest publications include La Corea di Kim, geopolitica e storia di una penisola contesa (Salerno Editrice, 2020), Eurasia e Jihadismo (Carocci, 2016) with M. Bressan, A. Politi and D. Savignoni and L'atomica di Kim (Rubbettino, 2013) with C. Astarita and N. Mastrolia.
